Bead-a-roll

I have been on a roll on the beading front the last week. I did so much over the weekend for my cousin's charity event coming up. Here are a few of them

My dad completed 65 last week and I baked this yummy vanilla cake with fresh cream vanilla icing

I used the ready-made gel that my brother brought from the US for the decoration. The cake was fresh and very light. I used a different recipe this time for the cake from here.

With so much beading, I have not been able to progress too much on June

With that friends, I take leave today. Till next time.. Take care.. Be happy.. Keep stitching.. Au Revoir

TUSAL and updates

Am late again in posting this month's TUSAL. Here it is, all from the June cottage progress

Speaking of which, though there is some progress, I'd have liked to have finished it by now.

Of late there has been a lot going on, with work and family functions. So, have not been able to stitch too much.

I have also resumed some on the beading front, on order from my cousin for her colleagues.

This is a long necklace with ear-rings. The picture is quite murky as I took it in a rush.

Wow, wasn't that a quick post :) Till my next update.. Take care.. Be happy.. Keep stitching.. Au Revoir

The apron

The weekend was a great one. My aunt (father's sister) visited us last week and was with us till Sunday. My mom was on a roll making absolutely yummy traditional dishes on account of my aunt. One such time was Saturday dinner
It was typical Chettinad (South Indian) cuisine, where we had aappam, kuzhi paniyaram and green chutney. Topped it off with some ice cream for dessert

Sunday evening I dropped off my aunt at her daughter's place. While we were chatting the topic went to Masterchef Australia and guess what, she had an original Masterchef apron that had arrived from Australia as a souvenir just 2 days ago!!! Would I miss an opportunity to atleast click a picture of it

V would just not co-operate with me to take the picture. After a lot of coaxing, she finally agreed

I tried my hand at a new sweet, called the 7 cup cake

It came out very well, except I think it would be better with half cup lesser sugar. It would then not be called 7-cup cake right, haha.

Not much happened on the stitchy front. That's about my update for today dear friends.

Till next time.. Take care.. Be happy.. Keep stitching.. Au Revoir

June start

Hello dear friends, this is going to be a short and sweet post, as there's really not much to report.

We have been concentrating more on V's school and homework. We feel she's probably getting distracted with the holiday and it has showed in her tests. Of course, this is just the first test of the academic year, and new syllabus. But we are trying to bring her "on track" if you may call it that.

So, I went easy with the baking and stayed low key. We did bake orange-choco chip muffins last weekend. They came absolutely yummy and fluffy. This was an eggless recipe that came with Goodhousekeeping India magazine. I seem to have forgotten to take any pictures of them though.
Edited to include the link to recipe - here
I did not use cocoa and used sugar powder instead of sugarfree.

I did start on June cottage and made decent progress.

It's coming up beautifully. Love the red colors. I think of all the cottages I've stitched so far this is my favorite.

With that my dear friends I take leave today. Till next time..Take care.. Be happy.. Keep stitching.. Au Revoir
