It happens that this is the second consecutive Tuesday that I am posting my updates. So, why not call it a Terrific Tuesday update. But then, what if I cannot continue each Tuesday?! Hmm, point to think

Well, I tried my hand at another new recipe over the weekend. It's basically a classic and very easy. The simple, yet classy Apple crumble.

Wow, I just love the flavors. Apple and cinnamon are a match made in heaven for sure. These days V wants to lend a helping hand at anything I bake. So I allowed her to put together the ingredients for the crumble topping. Am still a little scared to allow her to use the knife. So did the apple dicing myself. I got the recipe for the crumble from The Kitchn.

Guess what friends, I have completed April!!

Doesn't it look adorable. Love the colors. The french knot did not come out as well as it did last time. Did a "work-around" of a semi x-stitch there to fill up, haha

I really have to speed up on my pace to be able to achieve more. Just 4 finishes in 6 months is too less.

Mid-week update

Can I call it that, it's just Tuesday!! Anyway, here I am with what has been happening the past week.

The last week really whizzed by, well haven't all weeks been whizzing by for that matter. But for me it was even faster as I got to take the Monday and Friday off from work.
So, off I went to do some catching up on Friday. A new store has opened in town who import these great ingredients for baking. Decided to drop in there to take a "peek". Finally found some corn syrup there and some great varieties of cheese. Now friends, be ready to see more of my experiments :)
Also, met some friends for lunch on Friday at this great restaurant. We did some catching up and looot of eating too. It was good fun

That evening, V wanted to bake something "on her own", where I give her minimal help. So we decided to bake these blondies.

The recipe called for light brown sugar. As I did not have any, used dark brown instead resulting in a choco kind of look.

That's V doing the honors after the baking was done.

It was a quiet weekend otherwise, but still I could not get much stitching done. I was for some reason totally tired, and got about a row per day done maybe.
So, with that speed here's where I am with April cottage now

Am loving each moment of this.

A new start and a WIP

I just realized that there was no update from me last week. Well, there has not been much happening, crafty wise or other wise.

Guess who celebrated her birthday last weekend.. yay, you guessed right, me of course.

The day was a pretty much low-key one. V and I were at home waiting for the carpenter to turn up half the day. Then the evening we went shopping for some baking ingredients. For the first time I bought Golden syrup

It's awfully expensive, but wanted to try it in a recipe

V and I tried our hand at a new recipe. I wanted to use peanut butter and V wanted some bars/squares. So our search lead us to Choco-peanut butter squares

It really came out yummy. We do not get corn syrup in India, so I used the golden syrup instead. As I do not know why corn syrup is used, am not sure how different the taste would have been had I used it. Any tips on that??

My bro and SIL had bought an unfinished frame for V to complete over summer holidays. She decided to finish that over the weekend.

I did not help her at all with this. She did everything on her own. The choice of colors and the ideas are totally hers.

As V calls it, that's "the face of the frame"

Finally on the stitchy front, I started with April cottage and made a teeny bit of progress on Sea shells project. But the progress is not that great to post a picture yet. Promise to post something next time
