Of Birthdays and stitching

Hola friends. It's festive season here and we are well into Navratri (which literally means 9 nights) where we worship the divine Goddess for 9 days. This year we have kept the golu and we have loads of golu hopping invites to do, which in turn mean loads of dressing up and loads of yummy food :). Will post pictures from all the festivities in my next post

We celebrated the man's 52nd birthday earlier this month..

..and he chose a coffee flavor cake. We decided to skip the frosting and go for a coffee glaze instead

On the stitchy side, I completed page 11 and into page 12 now

Framed & TUSAL

It's festival season and the air is filled with positive energy and love! I will share pictures of our Navarathri in my next post

V and I had stitched a few projects during the last year. We got them framed this week

This is my favourite and very close to my heart. I had asked the framer to give a beautifully carved teak wood frame, but he was extremely reluctant and would not give me the frame! 

These 2 cute stitches are Vs. The shoe was a gift from our dear friend Meari

I somehow forgot to mention to the framer to add boards. So, am not that happy with the framing. I will probably get these reframed after some time

October ORTs

I have been meaning to post for so long, but it's time again for the ORTs post!! Sigh, time really flies

All ORTs for the month are from progress on Lotus. This month I very diligently saved the monthly Orts in the box on the left. The glass jar on the right shows the year-to-date collection

I have only one more petal to go to finish lotus. My next project is also going to be the same lotus - these are both gifts for 2 of my cousins. I am still trying to decide what shades to use for the next lotus. Am planning to stitch that on perforated paper as well, a darker shade though. I think a lighter pink will look good on that one

It's festival time now - Navarathri is in progress and that's keeping us all busy. This is the time to invite friends and relatives over, go visiting people. My next post will be dedicated to details of our celebration this year
