Stitchy Update

Hola dear friends! Amazing how the months just fly by - we are already at the end of April 

So, here is what has happened the past month since my last post. My parents are getting ready to shift into their new home by the end of April. So, most of the month has gone in helping them with their packing and work

Amidst that, very little crafting has happened. As many of you know, I love fridge magnets and sarees

I found this beautiful addition to my collection. This is a magnet that is made after the Madurai Sungudi saree. Look at how beautiful it is, even the folds look real

Some amount of stitching happened the past month on project Amma

So, this is where I am. I have completed page 8 and onto page 9 now. I cannot believe how this is coming up and can't wait to finish

Mystery Project Update

Guess what - I have 50 followers now! Thank you so much, dear friends for your kindness

So, let me give some more details about my Mystery project. This is going to be my biggest project ever. The pattern is a self generated one using StitchingJoy.com. The pattern is 24 pages.. yes you read that right - 24 pages!! And it's a full coverage project too

You can see how big the material is. Of course, there's enougghhh spare linen, which I will cut off after I finish. I just am too scared to cut the fabric for fear of falling short

Here's a closer look at my progress. Considering the amount of time I am getting to stitch, I wonder how long this project is going to take me to complete. I am very excited and nervous about this project. Also, extremely eager and restless to finish it, to see the outcome

Tusal

Wow, I have been away from the blog for over a week now, and definitely late with the Tusal for the month.

Here goes

The orts for the month are all from October.

My divine mother, Mata Amritanandamayi, was in Chennai last week - 18th and 19th. It is 2 years since she visited Chennai. So, do I need to mention the joy that we all felt?!

 The 2 days were total bliss, showered in total unconditional love. Every darshan from Amma leaves us totally energized and recharged. Now, am dragging myself back to reality.

October is really dragging. I picked it up after nearly 10 days last night!! There's just the border at the bottom left to complete. So, thought of showing a picture of the completed October.

TUSAL and some beading

Hello dear friends. It's getting reaaalllly hot in Chennai now. Today the mercury is at 90, and it's not even the hottest summer yet. Dread what May is going to bring in

So, with that, let me show you some home made ice "lollies" that V and I made

We made some thick and syrupy orange tang and poured them into ice trays as we did not have the ice molds. And had it topped with hershey's chocolate syrup, boy was it yummm :)

I worked on some more bead projects last weekend

I made this with dark brown crystals and gold beads. This is for my cousin again.

 Here's a closer look at the necklace.

 This one here is for V to wear for the wedding that's coming up next week. She's extremely thrilled about it and wants bracelet and ear-rings to go with this!!!

I totally forgot that last week was new moon :( Here's my TUSAL for the month

All threads are from the cottage SAL. I have not been working on anything else since Jan.

And last but not least, look what arrived!!!

Yep, April and May are here. Now I better start working on March!!!!
